News Bites – Friday the 22nd of July 2016

So much news to share in so little time. That is where the Player2 News Bites comes in. All the hot topics in small easy to chew pieces.

News Bites – Friday the 22nd of July 2016

– The sequel to one of the PS Vita’s (and later PS4’s) best games, Gravity Rush 2, now has a launch date. The game will be released in Australia on the 30th of November as a full priced title. The game’s story will also be expanded with an Anime feature film. Called Gravity Rush: The Animation – Overture, it will bridge the gap between the first and second titles. Check out the new gameplay trailer below and get excited for some more gravity defying fun.

– Rise of the Tomb Raider has finally been given a PS4 release date. The game will be launching on October 11 in a special “20 Year Celebration Edition” that includes all previous DLC as well as a new story level and VR support for some parts of the game. Xbox One and PC players will also be able to get the new content as apart of the season pass or purchase it separately.

– In exciting news for Australian Basketball fans, it has been announced that the Boomers will be the first International Basketball team playable in the NBA 2k series. NBA 2K17 will include the Australian national team which features international superstars like Andrew Bogut and Patty Mills as well as local NBL heroes like Kevin Lisch. I always enjoy my time with the NBA 2K games so this news has me even more excited to play some virtual hoops when it is released on the 16th of September.

– Pac-Man is back with a vengeance. After last month’s release of mobile hit Pac-Man 256 and his appearance in the dreadful (yet pretty successful from a dollar standpoint) movie Pixels, it seems you can’t turn sideways without seeing the little yellow pill muncher. Well, there is more good news for fans because Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 has just been announced for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. The first Championship Edition game was a super fun take on the Pac-Man formula so I will be keeping an eye on this one when it releases in September.
