Australian CS:GO Finals are going Free-to-Air

Sydney’s upcoming (deep breath) 2016 Counter Strike: Global Offensive Australian International eSports Federation World Championship Qualifiers Grand Final will be breaking new ground for Australian free-to-air television. Held on Friday the 2nd of September, SBS2 will be broadcasting the finals live from 9:30PM AEST that evening.

Australian CS:GO Finals are going Free-to-Air

SBS has a record for being ahead of the curve and it’s great to see them supporting the Australian eSports scene in this way. Viewers will get to watch the top two teams in Australia – Athletico and SYF Gaming – go head-to-head for their chance to win over $13,000 and qualify for the 2016 World Championship which will take place in Jakarta this coming October and feature competitors from over 35 nations.

If you’re an Australian fan of eSports, it would be a wise move to tune in to SBS that evening and show your support through social media so that future eSports content might find its way onto free-to-air television. If you’d prefer to watch online, the Qualifiers will also be available through the AEL Twitch Channel.
