Everybody loves a good crossover, right? Peanut butter and chocolate, King Kong vs Godzilla, romantic comedies and the trash can… the list goes on. In Immortal Redneck we get a delightful first-person shooter crossed with an Egyptian theme, and it makes for what sounds like an awesome gaming experience.

Immortal Redneck, which is due out onto PS4 and Xbox One next month, follows the titular redneck towards the Great Pyramids of Giza as he attempts to find out why he woke up mummified in the sun-bleached sands of Egypt. Gameplay is reminiscent of an old-school arcade FPS, where the hillbilly main character will have to blast, strafe and bunny-hop around Egyptian puzzles and bad guys.

Death, however, matters not to a being which is immortal, and through the power of resurrection, you can use the gold you’ve earned on one playthrough to unlock permanent upgrades and favours from the gods (which should help you die less often next time. Maybe. No promises).

The game features over 50 weapons to find and utilise, as well as Scroll Modifiers dropped by enemies that can change the course of your playthrough, ensuring that no two runs are ever the same.

Immortal Redneck has been a wonderful success on Steam and we look forward to bringing the fun to consoles,” said Guillermo Andrades, Co-Founder, Crema. “Look out for our fusion of classic FPS and roguelike when it hits PS4 and Xbox next February, with the Nintendo Switch port following closely behind.”

Immortal Redneck releases for PS4 and Xbox One on February 27, and the Nintendo Switch in Q1 this year.
